AB 693 will create a new program, called Solar CARE, that dedicates $100 million per year to low-income tenants of multifamily affordable housing projects for on-site solar installations. Low-income communities are often last to benefit from green technologies, in addition to promoting local jobs, renewable energy, and cleaner air for the state. AB 693 helps lower energy bills for low-income families with free solar energy.
