At our Annual Environmental Leadership Awards on December 1st, CLCV will honor SG&A Campaigns for their commitment to electing California’s strongest environmental champions to represent our values year after year.
The SG&A team, led by Parke Skelton, Steve Barkan, and Mike Shimpock, have guided more winning campaigns in Southern California than any other group in their field. The team’s unparalleled level of expertise stems from years of experience electing candidates, winning ballot measures, and influencing decisions made by policymakers and corporations. Their commitment to supporting progressive candidates, along with their victories in other regions throughout the state, have had a profound impact on California politics.
Over the last 25 years, SG&A has overseen more than 300 political campaigns, including congressional, statewide, state legislative, local, judicial, and state and local ballot measures in addition to issue advocacy and corporate advocacy campaigns. The firm has run campaigns for such Environmental Champions as Controller John Chiang, Insurance Commissioner Dave Jones, and members of Congress Karen Bass, Julia Brownley, Judy Chu, Alan Lowenthal, Adam Schiff, and Hilda Solis. They have played a crucial role in bringing some of California’s greatest environmental champions to office, including current Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon, Senator Fran Pavley, and Assemblymember Betsy Butler, among so many more.
SG&A is one of few firms with mastery across all levels of a campaign, acting as general consultants/strategists, direct mail consultants, award-winning television and radio directors/writers/producers, and coalition building and grassroots field consultants. Without the expertise provided by SG&A and their tireless work for progressive candidates, California might not be the leader it is today on issues like climate change and environmental justice. Their strategic support has enabled our most prominent advocates to rise in the ranks and become the champions we need to keep our state at the forefront of these critical issues.
We’re grateful for the work and the leadership of the SG&A team and are thrilled to honor them with their award December 1st. Tickets for this event are available at: www.ecovote.org/awards.
