Local Leagues

California's local leagues, which are comprised of dedicated community activists, focus on electing and supporting environmentally responsible candidates for local public office. CLCV generally does not take a position on local races unless they have a potential major impact on the state's environment or in other special circumstances.

Local leagues are independent organizations that make their endorsements independent of CLCV's endorsement process. Find election endorsements on their websites or by contacting them:

About CLCV's Endorsements

Candidates receive CLCV’s endorsement the old-fashioned way: They earn it. Before each election, we conduct field research to determine candidates’ environmental records. Then we send them questionnaires, testing their views on key issues. Finally, the candidates are interviewed by a panel of CLCV Board members, staff, and local environmentalists.

Note that local league endorsements (available here) are made independently of CLCV.
